On December 31, 2008, Anderson Mill will be annexed by the City of Austin and a "Limited District" will be automatically created. It will provide service for our parks, pools, deed restriction enforcement and trash collection only. Later, you will decide whether to keep the limited district for ten years.
With a limited district, you will pay two taxes: the City's and the district's.
AMFuture wants you to learn the facts and the concerns about the limited district including: double taxation; use of the $10 million surplus fund for projects like a library or to pay limited district expenses; affordable trash service; and how high a tax rate will be.
Our role is to take a
hard, critical look at all the facts and present them to you so that YOU can decide whether a limited district is right for you.
Is a Limited District in Anderson Mill’s future?
Real Leadership, Real Representation
For Anderson Mill: a referendum, a limited district budget, lower taxes and more.
Progressive ideas -- not “stuck in the MUD” mentality.
$2000 Homeowner Tax Rebate?
Nelson, Farley and Elleson want you to decide in a referendum on Anderson Mill's $10 million surplus. A property tax rebate? A capital improvement project? Paying limited district expenses for ten years?
You decide.
(sub)Urban Myths
Is a Limited District in Anderson Mill’s future? Nelson, Farley and Elleson bring the facts, not rumor or misinformation,
like…
City of Austin compared to Limited District?
They both offer the same level of service, the same pool access, the same property protections through city codes or deed restrictions.
Is there a real difference?
Show Me the (tax) Money.
With a limited district, you will pay two property taxes: the city’s and the district’s which we project will need to be around $.31/$100. (See '
What Is The Real Cost of a Limited District?')
Trash or Treasure?
We can draw down to zero from our $10 million surplus fund every year to pay for parks, pools and trash pickup. Or how about a homeowner tax rebate? Or
we can use the money for a library, police substation or any other projects in Anderson Mill.
Your Tax Dollars at Work…and Play
It’s not all work and no play for our current MUD board. Some enjoyed some fun in the sun at a conference in
South Padre Island.
The May 10
th election is more than just about the Limited District. It’s about who is best qualified, has the highest integrity, is innovative, and takes the initiative in preparing Anderson Mill for its future.
